STANDARDIZATION, TECHNICAL REGULATION DEPARTMENT


The main function of Standardization, technical regulation department is elaboration and implementation of standardization policy, planning, programme; management and coordination of the activities of national standardization technical committees and Standardization national council; and development of national standards. According Implementation and transfer of new and advanced technologies MASM coordinates of the standards information center and enquiry point activities.

Main activities:

• Management and coordination of the activities of national standardization technical committees
• Harmonization of national standards with international ones
• Coordination of implementation of WTO TBT agreement
• Implementation and transfer of new and advanced technology through the international and regional standards

Purpose of standardization:

The purpose of standardization is to protect public interest, human health, the environment and security of the nation and enhance the compatibility of products, as well as to ensure proper usage of all types of resources and interchangeability of products, uniformity of testing and measurement.

Principles of standardization:

• Equal participation of the government, producers and consumers;

• Compliance with social interests;

• To be independence, sovereign

• The standards shall be based on latest scientific and technological achievements and contain concise and coherent contents.

• The development process of the national standards shall be based on related international standards.

• The standards shall not be such that creats unnecessary obstacles to the trade and manifacturing.

• The standarts shall be based on consuming and utilization characteristics of products.

• Not to include requirements and specefications which are not in compliance with the legislation.
